I'm a 47 year old white male. I have very dark skin around my eyes and eye lids. Looks like I have a black and blue eyes, like i've been a fight and really got beat up. What's going on here? I had this for a least a year now and seems to be getting worst.

Black (dark) or yellow skin around the eyes is a good indicator of liver problems (sluggish for instance). Perhaps you might want to tackle the problem from this angle, and see if you have any luck.

Here's an interesting webpage I found about the liver, and the various things one can do to make sure theirs is healthy, and functioning properly.

It also lists other symptoms of a weak/sluggish/toxic liver, that you may, or may not, also be suffering from, to help you better determine whether (or not) this problem is related to your liver.

Note: if you do not suffer from any other symptom, that does not necessarily mean it isn't liver related. But if you do, it will just give you a better indication.

It wouldn't hurt to give your liver a little tlc anyway.

hope this helps.

Dark circles around your eyes--could also just mean you are low on iron. Cool trick to check your iron levels. Take a gold ring and push against your face and drag it down your face. If iron is low--it will leave a black line down your face. Dont worry it washes right off.
