Back Pain Answer A49
Most doctors agree that people experiencing lower back pain can first consider trying over-the-counters analgesics to help alleviate pain temporarily. But you might want visit your doctor (who may recommend an orthopedic specialist) to investigate and identify the cause of this type of back pain. An X-ray of the lumbar vertebrae can be requested to confirm or exclude possible degenerative changes (spondylosis) of the lumbar vertebral column. Blood analyses and an ultrasound will most likely further inform you on the condition of your kidneys, another diagnostic possibility. These examinations may tell you more about your condition and can lead to successful diagnosis and treatment of lower back pain.
