Swelling On Elbow (Page 2)

May 25th, 2013
Just wanted to weigh in here. 61 years old and never had a gout attack until 5 months ago. Now I have them on and off every 2 to 3 months. They are less severe since I'm on Colcrys, but they still flare to some degree. It just recently moved from the feet/ankles into the knees and my right elbow. What a depressing sickness gout is. Watch your diet, drink water until you can't possibly drink any more of it, try the cherry juice (works for some, but not all)and try to stay positive. Watch out for diuretics as they can trigger or worsen attacks--talk to your doctor about alternative meds. Good luck to us all

Greetings, same age group as you (62). Have had good luck with uloric 40mg the past 2 years. No flares in that time. But prior 10 years were rough. Had both elbows surgically repaired to correct bursitis and swelling caused by gout in those joints

Gout pain
Everybody, after years of on again off again gout type pain in my toes, feet, knees and now elbows, I am 100% convinced that tomatos, especially concentrated tomato paste is the culprit.
Tomatos are part of the nightshade family. Tobacco, particularly chewing tobacco is also part of this family and causes me terrible pain in the joints.
I know how frustrating and painful it is, like you have no options....please try and stay well clear of anything to do with tomatos, it's hard because they are everywhere, read the labels of all your packaged products. Good luck.
