I am living in vietnam where the weather temp is usually hot. I was infected by tb bacteria 4 years ago with a positive skin test result. Then, I took 9-month treatment. With that treatment, skin test returned negative and I feel very ok now. X-ray test returned the same result.

With a just visa approval, I will immigrate into the us and live there. I am so worry about the weather in the us which normally cold. Is it good or bad for a person who was infected with tb to live in a country where the temp. Is too cold?

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
No,cold temperature has no affect on it.
Yet,if a person has active tuberculosis then he/she can be a source for others because they will leave in closed rooms.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
