I occasionally feel an irregular heartbeat in my chest. I immediately take my pulse and it feels like i miss a couple beats and then the beats catch up, lasting only a few seconds. I first noticed the irregularity while in a pyhsically abusive relationship, 4 years ago. I went to my doctor about it and he did a ecg and hooked me to a holter monitor. The results came back that everything was fine. Ive read that stress can have an effect on the heartbeat. I try to keep stress down but i find that i get anxious over little things in everyday life. Ive been out of the bad relationship for 2 years but find that i still replay some of it over in my head. Sometimes i feel like a dark cloud follows me wherever i go. I sometimes think i should go back to my doctor, but feel like ill get the same results. I want to cure myself through meditation and relaxation techniques, not medication. help!

Heart Disease and Heart Attack Answer A3687

According to the symptoms you describe (irregular heartbeat and abusive relationship), it seems likely that your problem is not some heart disorder but anxiety. You can try treating it with meditation and relaxation techniques as soon as possible.
