dizziness and fatigue after mono (Page 5)

Mono at 48
I was diagnosed with mono recently for the first time at age 48! Apparently I'd had it previously but didn't realize it at the time. My worst symptom has been an extreme sore throat. Also swollen glands and coughing. I've taken a round of Prednisone, which probably helped, but not enough to tell. Very oddly, even though I'd been extremely tired for awhile, since I was diagnosed I've been less tired. I started feeling inexplicably dizzy today and have learned from these posts that it's probably due to the mono. I'm glad to have an idea what to expect over the next few months, even if it's not all that encouraging. : ) Thank you all for sharing.

Mono with migraines and dizziness
Hello all,
I detected mono also at age 40 and that was 20 years ago. I unfortunately, cannot work, drive or do much of anything since then. I had to stop working and basically my life has stopped. I've been to 13 different neurologists, homeopathic people, had chiropractic work done, PT, cervical spine surgery, tons of Botox injections, you name it I've done it. After detecting that it was mono I started with severe migraine headaches. I've been put on numerous preventive medications for my pain over the years. I'd say within two years of my pain level getting less I developed constant dizziness. It's been horrendous. No doctor has been able to help me. It is extremely frustrating and I know it's because of mono as all of you have had the same results. They say dizziness is very complex and that's about it. That's not acceptable to me. Vestibular therapy helps many people but it caused me to vomit all the time and couldn't drive back from my appointments. Feel very stuck and alone with this. I've been to ENT doctors too but I'm trying another one tomorrow with hopes of getting some relief. I realize my life will never be the same but living at 5% is not acceptable when I used to be extremely active. Thanks for your sharing.

I am sorry, I have been feeling fatigues for 7 years and I am 40 now, doctors and websites information on Mono say it goes away in few weeks, which is not true. I go to the laundrymat on saturdays at 6:00 AM because i know by 11:00 AM my body won't have any energy left. I am always yawning. No sleep disorder, I had sleep study done.

Re: dizziness and fatigue after mono
I was recently tested for the first time in my life for Mono and it came out positive, I have been feeling very fatigue for about 7 years. It does not goes away. My only symptom is fatigue, feeling very cold and fever, no sore throat. I don't think I will ever have energy again. Is very painful to go up the stairs, run out of breath. I also have anemia. I take iron. I get fast heart beat at night time while trying to sleep. Doctors don't see this as a big deal and there is no medication, so I'll stay like this forever. I am 40 yrs old now, 105 pounds and work full time as a secretary, I will feel a little relieve if I could work part time but I need the money. I wish I could go under my desk and take a nap.
