irregular period with thick brown discharge

For about the last month or so i have had my period. But it has been quite strange it will stop and then the next day or so i will get this thick brown output and then some blood will come and it will start up again. It is very frustrating as i am on the pill and was not even supposed to get my period when i did. Someone said to me because i have O negative blood type there is a possibility that i have miscarried (without knowing i was pregnant) and that my body is now creating anti bodies. What do you think it could be and should i see my doctor??

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
This is unlikely to have an unscheduled bleeding while on pills, provided you did not miss any of them.If that is the fact,do not worry.Do a pregnancy testing first and if that is negative, continue the rest of the pack as before. But if you are regular on pills, most probably you have to change the type of pill with the help of your doctor.Do not think about your blood group theory. That is entirely rubbish.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counseling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
