Diabetes and high blood glucose levels after eating sweets

User Profile
I recently tested my son's non fasting bs level and it was 330! Would it matter if he had a lot of sweets an hour or two before I tested? I was pretty sure that it should not get that high no matter when testing unless diabetes was present. I took a fasting blood sugar level the next day and it was 132, which is high for a fasting level in a non diabetic. I also tested his urine both times I tested his bs level and the results were negative for sugar and protein. Can my son be a diabetic w/out having any symptoms except for the elevated levels?

One or two hours after eating sweets the blood glucose level should be less than 200 mg/dL. When hungry, blood glucose level should be less than 115 mg/dL. If your son’s blood glucose levels are those that you told me you should bring your son to a doctor immediately!
