Hard Cider Vs. Beer

Any better? Worse? Can't find any reference to purine levels in cider, but everyone talks about apple cider vinegar...

I started having severe trouble with gout about 3 years ago(I'm 56 now) It affected my ankles, knee and knuckles. I started taking Colcrys and an Aleve if an episode was coming on(about twice a month)and got relief. I've since given up beer (switched to hard cider) shellfish and red meat. I only experience the beginning of an episode now about twice a year. Again, the Colchrys and Aleve, the diet change(and perhaps the hard cider, who knows?) have had a huge difference in my fight against gout.
