During Sleep My Body Temperature Rise to the 100's (Page 6)

winter sweat
I'm a healthy 33 y/o male. Lately, in winter, I would wake up sweaty under the blanket. It wasn't severe or drenching in any way but yesterday was the worst ever occurence. I woke up with my shirt soaked through on both sides. Pants, sheets, pillow - all drenched. Wife hadn't a clue yet but i'm getting a little concerned.

Great thread but has anyone got a solution or explanation to share?

NO explaination what so ever to higher body temps!
I am amazed at this...around the World, old, young, fat, thin, healthy, not healthy, male, female....no common tie in it at all....I've been doing it forever...thought it was menopause...no...thought it was bad health...I'm currently dealing with a pressure wound being a paraplegic..but obviously it's not due to that either...walk arounds have..my daughter does...very strange and no answers...guess we just suffer along with it...this has been interesting...and it seems I don't do it as much thru the colder months...I live in FL...but even with the AC way down it's still and hot/cold night every night...covers on/covers off..within minutes...just weird!!

Im fairly young at 28 and my wife says at night my body gets so hot she cant even get close to me because my body temp is so high. I wake up competely drenched most days. But unlike alot of the others i am a cold temp person. for me the colder outside the better. Ive worked in ranges from -45 to 130 above and just dont get cold. Since moving from louisiana to wyoming i have noticed a serious increase in the amout i sweat at night. I can sleep right through and not realize it till the morning. but here lately ive been getting so hot my wife hasnt been able to stay in bed the entire night because of the temp. Two fans on me and sleeping nothing but a pair of shorts and still no change. Im not over weight by anymeans 6'2" and about 190 pounds. Does anyone have any ideas.

exccessive body heat during sleep
this is what I learned from a health official...that when you sleep your body goes into high gear to mend what ever issues it's having...whether it be digestive or a medical issue...with the body working at top speed to do that it raises the body temp when you sleep..I'm currently on penicillin....just started yesterday...so I'm curious to see if that will affect it...I can say that last night was very comfortable for me ... the first in a long time...but I've had this issue for years with and without meds when everything has been fine...I haven't been able ever to link it to anything nor can anyone else...maybe log your evening food and drink consumption??

Hi,
I don't know how old y'all are but I'm only 14 and it seems that everytime I take a nap or oversleep, I am boiling hpy. Regularly, I can't sleep without my fan on, but then I like to be constently under the covers. I don't know what's wrong, but I'm not that healthy. I catch every virus that comes around, and there's something weird with my blood involving anemia and a high ANA reading, whatever that means! Anyways, if someone finds a cause to this, I'd greatly appreciate it!

bluefizzle...
If you read all six pages here you'll see we are ALL ages...male and female, all walks of life and some with health issues and others not/some overweight and others not...this has become a very bizarre occurrence and is world wide...used to be the body got cooler as we slept but not anymore...I just know what I was told (above)as an explanation...right now I am on Penicillin 4 times a day for a wound infection and since I've been taking it the body heat increase at night is WAY less...I'm interested to see what will happen next week when I stop taking it...ANYONE ELSE???

night fire
I too, have woke up with thinking I was on fire! This just started about a month ago. I'm 48 and on Levothyroxine 50mcg ( for underactive thyroid.) I've been on this med for one year and never had this heat thing. It has been a life saver to me. Anyway, some nights I can't sleep well cause of this hot flash problem. I don't sweat much in the bed, leaving it soaked, but just waking up like someone lite me on fire. I know that caffine makes it happen more often.

thoughts?
loymo...so could it be your thyroid as earlier posts from others have suggested? Do you drink caffine before bed? Or hormones due to premenopause? Do you have any inkling of what could be causing this in you?
I'm finding this thread so bizarre and interesting...reply back with any resolutions you find please...

I personally think that the issue, which I suffer from sporadically, is related to sleep disorders. My question would be how many people snore or have sleep apnea that have this elevated body temperature during sleep problem? Could there be a connection between lowering oxygen levels in the blood and elevating body temperatures?? Separate out those situations where people are not actually sleeping, but just in bed.

body heat
Melbert...I would keep a log for a couple weeks...what you eat in the evening, exercise you get, if it's full body sweat or limited to a certain region, how long it last, body temp thru the day .... any pain or discomfort anywhere...blood pressure levels....if all this seems normal than I'd not be overly concerned...no sign of anything wrong...this just seems to be happening to so many people with no explaination...keep us posted....

Possible Answer, just no solution
I been having this issue for quite a while too. I have liver disfunction and have had for 4+ years. This hot thing when sleeping began to get bad when I moved a year and a half ago. Thought my bedroom just wasn't getting enough air. I sleep with the central air set low 62-65 degrees, a floor fan and my head below a window where I have installed a room air conditioner! I know it's cold because my long haired little dogs will start to shiver and want under the covers! Sad but true! (and i'm really hot before they get under) A doc online said something similar to what someone earlier said...that our bodies can overheat when trying to heal...I've been on antibiotics several times for other reasons with no change to the hot sleeping problem. Curious that I'm almost cold during the day with the air set around 72 and a celing fan on low.

body temp
Hey Hot Girl...Me Too! I can keep it very comfortable in here during daytime hours..78 even seems cool at times but at night at bedtime it seems there is no air in the bedroom which of course can't be the issue. I have double insulation in the attic so there should be no problems but I have to lower the ac to 75 at night to sleep even a tad cool...
I'm starting on IV antibiotics tomorrow and will be interested to see if they make a difference...I"ve only seem to notice a difference in the cool winter months...have found no connection to ailments, diet or anything like that...It's 77 in here now..10 pm and I'm warm just sitting here typing...just bizarre...

Has anyone discovered anything that could be causing this? I also suffer from this and it is very frustrating. Any possible solutions that come to mind, please reply.

Believe me or not, I really could care less. Just trying to help
I have had this happen to me!
I've actually burned a GF who refused to sleep in the same bed as me afterwards, I have learned to control it for the most part and can withstand cool and hot temps at will I can also heat things up, believe it or not it's up to you. If you want to know more go to YouTube.com and serch: ripleys believe it or not qi gong or just serch for qi gong and watch the 11min documentry on it, a friend showed me this after learning of my situation and I educated myself and began to learn how to control the heat from my body energy and now it's easier to sleep and ppl don't complain. Hope this was helpful Wink

Just some guy.
