TMJ symptoms - do others have this?

I was told I had this a few years ago. I went through a bad time with it, painful and then it eased up and I forgot about it. I have a very stressful job and started to notice about a month or so ago that my neck, left shoulder area was very painful, then it went into my ear and the pain reminded me of 2 years earlier. Then it proceeded to go down my jaw with a strange feeling, almost a numbness that waxed and wained. I have had pain in my throat that has come and gone but mostly by my ear, my neck and shoulder. My jaw does crack and because of the stress I had been chewing gum again and I think that may be what started this. Does anyone else have all these symptoms?

Hi, your symptoms sound typical of TMJ disorder, which stems from stress and tension in your jaw joint. This would naturally be worse during times of stress. I specialise in TMJ treatment using a combination of massage, pressure-point therapy and myofascial release. I don't know where you are but I would recommend looking for someone who specialises in this kind of treatment, or a chiropractor or acupuncturist. Best wishes.
