I have hypo thyroid and am taking 175mcg of thyroxine everyday. I eat low fat diet and exercise regularly. But still my cholesterol levels are rising especially triglycerides.

Is there a connection between them? My blood reports show that my thyroid levels are normal with the current medication. Then why is my Cholesterol increasing?

What measures should I take to stop this?

Hello Mary,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Taking small dosage of lipid controlling agent would help with control hypercholesterolemia. This could be separate problem not necessarily related to your hypothyroid condition if your thyroid hormone levels are well controlled with prescribed dosage of thyroxine. Consider taking opinion from an endocrinologist and proceed with further treatment options based on your further evaluation results.
Take care.
