Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
Erythromycin can affect the efficacy of the birth control. If you plan to get started on it, discuss with your gynecologist about which one to get started with and the precautions needed to be followed while taking the erythromycin along with the birth control to remain protected against pregnancy. Use backup contraception (condom/spermicide) while being on first month of use of birth control and throughout if using combined hormonal pills or patch for birth control.
Take care.
