36th week of pregnancy protein in urine?.

User Profile
I'm saranya and I'm running 36th week of pregnancy. For the last four times in my urine test they identified that protein is coming out. But my blood pressure is normal and there is no swelling. Now they decided to check 24 hrs urine test. I'm little bit scared about it and i don't know what is going to happen.

Welcome to ehealthforum.
You do not need to worry. Urine tests detecting proteins indicates that proteins are getting leaked in it which can be frank proteins or micro proteins. If they are microprotiens, your blood pressure and edema would most often be in control. The 24 hour urine test will detect if you are having these microproteins (microalbuminuria) getting leaked in the urine. If anything serious is found, you will be induced to have labor pains and baby will be delivered after completion of 37 weeks (safe delivery time). Take adequate rest, drink plenty of water and maintain a good diet.
Take care.
