I recently had to have heart surgery due to a blockage .I didn't have a heart attack but I was on the verge of having one.I am female, age 50.I started having severe pain in my right shoulder and arm.I was diagnosed with arthritis by my Dr and given cortisone shots.I developed what I thought to be heartburn shortly afterwards. It became worse over the next month. One night I was having a bad attack and I started having a horrible sour taste in my throat that radiated up into my neck and jaw.I went to the ER that night and admitted for tests .The blockage was found and I had surgery before any damage was done to my heart.I also had another strange symptom .My teeth hurt. They became very sensitive.Women can have some strange symptoms.I'm not surprised that so many women die before they are diagnosed with heart disease.
