Symptoms normal for this stage?

So I'm on month 3 of full-blown mono, obviously still fatigued. But my glands have been giving me trouble since the beginning of June, especially the right one which continues to be swollen and painful. I also often have a sore throat, which has been getting much worse since the weather turned cold. I'm assuming the latter symptom is just normal cold-weather soreness, worsened by my mono. But should I be worried about the swelling? I went to my doctor at the beginning of the month and he basically just said, "yep. your lymph nodes are swollen. bye." I, like many others who have been stricken with EBV, am nervous about how long my symptoms are going to last. I work for a) my dad who is completely unsympathetic and asks me every day when I'm going to get better, and b) a toy store when the holiday rush is about to start. I apparently have a mild case of mono, but is there anything I can do about the swollen glands in the meantime?

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
I would suggest you to have throat swab for culture and sensitivity. If it turned out to be positive then antibiotics will help you in combating this issue. Otherwise, pain killer like advil will fix the issue.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
