symptoms indicating PMS?

User Profile
2 weeks of dark brown spotting/red, light bleeding for a week. Been cleared for a week. Bloating after hardly eating anything but becomes flat once morning comes, slight back/headaches, food cravings, stressed, depressed, breast sensitivity. I have not had sex, but have been fingered. Are these symptoms indicating PMS? My period is expected in a week or 2. Thanks, doctor. I appreciate your time and answer!

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
It is difficult to comment if the symptoms that you describe are PMS symptoms or suggestive of pregnancy possibility without examining you and going ahead with further evaluation. If the fingering has lead to contact of semen or pre-cum with vagina and if you were during your fertile days or close to ovulation time around your sexual contact, chances of pregnancy resulting cannot be ruled out. Wait and watch for your periods. Look out for development of any other new symptoms if pregnancy is suspected. If periods do not start within 10 days of expected period dates, or if you get abnormal periods, or if the symptoms remain persistent, or if you suspect chances of pregnancy, consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). If pregnancy gets ruled out, and if you are not ready for pregnancy, but intend to remain sexually active, you should consider visiting your gynecologist to get started on suitable regular birth control measures to be protected (after your periods). Be regular with birth control use as instructed. Avoid having unprotected sexual contact if not ready for pregnancy. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet and lifestyle.
Take care.
