sudden appearance of 4 moles on torso

hi - i am 36 and fair skinned. a couple of evenings ago i noticed that 4 flat moles have all suddenly appeared in the same area on my torso (within a few cm's of each other). They are larger than all the other moles and freckles and sun spots that are on my body and when you look closely 3 of them have a few tiny black dots appearing on one side of them. Should i be concerned and does this sound normal.

In general, new pigmented lesions should be evaluated by a doctor. Moles that have asymmetrical or vague borders, multiple shades of color, or raised edges (and moles that itch or bleed) are particularly concerning for possible melanoma (skin cancer).
