My Dr. just recommended a spinal fusion on L4/5 plus a laminectomy{spelling?} I have been reading these forums for 2 days now and I really am leaning toward NOT having this done, after all the horror stories! And just how much does this surgery cost? Thanks for your replies in advance.

Spinal fusion
Hi there...I had this done 5 years ago. Before the op i was walking (barely) with 2 sticks and in constant agony. The day after the op the surgeon got me out of bed and i haven''t had a minutes pain since. Gave me back my life..I run and do Aikido..big difference :O)
If your back affects your life so much then i say go for it :O)

hello Pete--I have ins.,but it won't pay anything on my back because it was a pre-existing condition.I have heard private pay is less then having ins. pay.I know my mri was .I am trying to leave surgery as last resort and depending on how severe my pain gets,i might forego surgery period. My pain is severe at times but i am very afraid of surgery.I will wait and see.
