Stroke recovery derailed by problems

Severe stroke 50 yr old male
Recovery derailed re a open wound abscess in butt. Causing high temp and 6months on antibiotics
Has anyone ever been cured from such an ailment. It is making patient weaker. Unable to make sense sometimes. Mind not all there.
Unable to rehab only nursing homes. Still on feeding tube and colostomy bag. What are my chances has anyone ever recovered from this?

Thank you for asking at ehealthforum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. With so much morbidities and advancing age, i am afraid the recovery time might be prolonged. Abscess and colostomy already in place with history of stroke and feeding tube are some of the negative factors which may delay the recovery, but recovery is not impossible and will be an eventual result if provided a fact

I hope it helps. Please take good care of yourself and do as directed.I would advise to stay in touch with your health care provider as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and can not be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor where a complete evaluation occurs. I will be here if you need me or have any more questions to ask, i would love to answer.

May the odds be ever in your favour.

Take care
