Hi I'm having pain in my right abdomen towards the edge of my tummy. I've had pain like this often before but it's not been like this. I did eat late, and the pain woke me up in the night and it seems to have continued on to this morning. It hurts when I move around or put any pressure on the muscles.

I've had keyhole surgery in the past in around 2014 to remove my gallbladder.

I'm 22/female and I weigh about 8 stone

Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Right upper quadrant pain should be worked up. Fever and jaundice should be looked for in association with pain. Basic metabolic panel including ALP and GGT should be advised. An ultrasound of the abdomen particularly focusing on the right upper quadrant should be done. Normal movements of the diaphragm should be looked for. In addition , the kidneys should also be examined on U/S to see if they are enlarged or if there is any associated mass.

Wishing you best of health
