I'm 16 and for 13 days now, Ive had sever stomach burning, heartburn, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. The burning is constant, from when I wake up until I go to sleep, what could possibly be wrong?

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

The symptoms of severe heart burn, diarrhea, vomiting, point towards an inflammatory pathology. So you could be either having IBS or Crohn’s disease or Ulcerative colitis or celiac disease or it could also be some food or lactose intolerance.

There is another possibility that you have severe acidity with GERD and this is hampering digestion. Another possibility is malabsorption syndrome. These are seen in intestinal tuberculosis, HIV, tropical sprue, parasites in stool and Whipple’s Disease.

Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please discuss these possibilities with your gastroenterologist once. You will need a detailed history with clinical examination and some tests to reach a confirmed diagnosis. Meanwhile drink plenty of fluids. Eat light. Take ORS and some antacid and lactobacillus preparation. Hope this helps. Take care!
