Starting birth control packet after last day of period

I started my first birth control packet (Loestrin24Fe) 3 days after my fifth period day, so before ovulation. I have not had any breakthrough bleeding and haven't missed a pill, only slight nausea the first two weeks. My boyfriend and I have decided after half a year together to both have sex for the first time exactly a month after I started the pill. We're obviously still using a condom, but if the condom breaks will my birth control be an effective back up if I did not start the bill exactly on either the first or last day of my October period?

As long as you took it for at least 7 days continuously before having him ejaculate inside you, you are protected.

Take care.
