My nine year old daughter was diagnosed with Celiac disease 16 months ago. She has been on the strict diet and her stomach and intestines have healed. Yes she is still continuing the diet. Six weeks ago she started having severe pain around her belly button every time she eats or drinks. It's a stabbing and squeezing pain that makes her curl into the fetal position and cry for about five minutes. She has been to the Dr and they have done, MRI's, ultrasounds, HIDA scans, endo scope, colonoscopy, and pill cam. They have also taken out her Appendix and gallbladder (which had lecions attached to it) She is still having pain and the Dr's are stumped. Does anyone have this problem or heard of it please let me know!

Welcome to ehealthforum

Its really sad to know that a young child is suffering from pain and going through all this.Celiac disease cannot be cured and only the lesions can be healed but abdominal pain can be present at times as this is the feature.
Kindly continue with the diet as this is quite important. The lesions may be healed but sometimes it may take years before the symptoms are completely gone.

Take care!
