Small wound exposed in extremely dirty water.

I had small open wound on my foot and I had to go in extremely dirty water (due to rain and mixed with drainage) and there were lot of animals (mainly cows) around with their feces. I am extremely worried what is the risk of getting infections out of it? Should I get Tetanus vaccination (last time I got injection about 1.5 years back for another wound)?

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. If you have vaccinated for tetanus in last 5 years then there is no need for any further vaccination. You should just keep the wound aseptic and proper topical care.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
