small polyps on my ovaries preventing pregnancy?

User Profile
I had an ultrasound two days ago and they found a few small polyps on my ovaries. Me & my boyfriend have been trying for a baby for about 6 months. Could these polyps be preventing me from getting pregnant?

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Do you mean to say that the ultrasound scan revealed ‘cysts’ on ovaries? Please mention the report as stated clearly to be able to help you with answers.
If there were cysts detected, then yes, these can hamper your fertility levels and cause problems in getting pregnant (depending on what type of cysts were detected). If uterine polyps or cervical polyps were detected, then these too can be a cause for infertility.
Be in regular follow-up with your doctor/gynecologist. Discuss your pregnancy plans with your treating doctor/gynecologist and proceed further with treatment as indicated to help you get pregnant.
Take care.
