small gestational sac? I looked it up and am horrified.

I was told i have a small gestational sac... im going to have a repeat ultrasound in 1 month. My dr sounded like everything was fine, but i went home a looked it up and am horrified. My question is does a small gestational sac with a fetus with a strong heartbeat mean im going to miscarry or there will be other issues for my baby?

Hello,

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out.

Small gestational sac can be due to miscalculated date of last menstrual cycle, non viable pregnancy especially if pregnancy is beyond 8-10 weeks or if the pregnancy is not advancing as it should.

You should get regular ultrasounds done as suggested by your doctor.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.
