slight soreness and discharge from right breast

I've had a slightly sore breast for years, on the right side of my right breast. It's a dull ache, nothing too troublesome, and it gets more noticeable at certain times of the month related to my menstrual cycle. I've also noticed that sometimes, there is the tiniest amount of white discharge, like a couple of little specks. The discharge smells like sour milk. I'm not pregnant and never have been. Is this normal?

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Breast tissue is known to respond to the hormonal changes that occur throughout your menstrual cycle. Due to hormonal surge for ovulation during midcycle time there can be symptoms like pain, soreness, breast discharge (resembling milk or yellowish/milky fluid), changes in breast lumps (if present). If you are worried, you should consider getting thorough evaluation done to look for the underlying cause and get started on appropriate measures (based on your evaluation results) to help control the symptoms. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately.
Take care.
