That 5w6d is the count back to the start of her last period Feb 29th. The egg for this pregnancy dropped 3w5d ago Mar 14th (stupid doctor convention). Sperm from March 6th would not have lasted until Mar 14th. Sex in the window Mar 9th thru Mar 15th is responsible for this pregnancy.

Welcome to e health forum.

Your date of conception depends on the day the egg and the sperm meet. Sperm can live up to 5 days inside a woman. A woman ovulates approximately two weeks after the last menstrual period.

The average menstrual cycle lasts 28 days, but can vary between 24 and 35 days. Menstrual bleeding normally lasts between two and seven days, with the average being five days.

Pregnancy can occur, only when ejaculation occurs within the vagina, and when the woman is within this ovulatory phase of your cycle. This period is from day 12 to day 16 of a 28 day menstrual cycle.

If a woman has unprotected intercourse with multiple men during this ovulatory phase, then the possible father of the resultant embryo can be determined only with a DNA analysis of the embryo or the new born child.

All other methods would not be confirmatory in such situations.

I hope this helps.
