Sex felt just like it did before the surgery, painful.

It has been a year and 2 months since my total hyst surgery. I have had sex for the first time since just this past weekend. I was painful. It felt just like it did before the surgery. It's this normal? What can be done for a better sex life? PLEASE HELP?

Was the cause of the pelvic pain determined before you had the hysterectomy? If it was not, then there was no way to know if hysterectomy would resolve the pain. Do you have endometriosis? If so, hysterectomy does not cure endometriosis. Oftentimes endo implants are left in the abdomen and continue to cause pain. Hope you get some answers and relief!

Hi EctkieM: Relax and enjoy...Sure it may be painful, but it will get better with time...You are the same woman you were before...Maybe more erotic as you no longer have the worries of bleeding and what was there before...Stop looking for trouble...Enjoy who and what you are...My best to you...Take care...
