Sex during ovulation - pregnant ?

User Profile
Hi, my name is Aimee and i have been so confused for a while. The week of Christmas was my ovulation week.. so me and my husband had sex.. I was suppost to start my period on the 5th and on the 1st i bleed for not even a day and thought it was my period, but it didnt even last a day.. and the next 4 days all i had was very little brown spotting. I took 3 home pregnancy tests on Jan 10th and 2 of them had a real faint positive line within the time frame recommended on the box. Three days later on Jan. 13th i took 3 more test and two of those also had a real faint line. The next day on Thursday, i had a blood test done and it was negative. Since then i have been nauseous and lower back aches and my breast are very, very sore, and have had some weight gain. So im wondering of i am pregnant or if the symptoms are from something else... please let me know what you think... Thank you.

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

Well, you do have symptoms of pregnancy. A blood pregnancy test is more accurate than a urine one as a urine one often gives false positive results. However a blood test is not a very sensitive test. Hence wait for a week and repeat the test.

If it is still negative then there is hardly a chance of pregnancy. Please consult a gynecologist in this case. Hope this helps. Take care!
