Welcome to e health forum.

The cause of his fever and inability to walk can be due to combination of electrolyte imbalance, infection, neurological conditions (possibly stroke, meningitis, etc). Complications related to diabetes including hypoglycemia, diabetic ketoacidosis, etc also need to be ruled out.

The exact cause can be determined only by a physical examination and lab tests. Hence it would be recommended to consult the treating doctors for a proper opinion.
