salivary gland scan showed mild abnormalities.

User Profile
I have been sick since march 3rd woke up with chest pain and shortness of breath. On march 9th after numerous trips to E.R. I had an EGD which showed mild gastritis and Lax LES. I was prescribed pantoprazole 40mg which I took up until 4/9/15 I was told by another GI doctor that my problems were not consistent with acid reflux and that I could DC the medication. I had a salivary gland scan which showed mild abnormalities. Also EKG showed right bundle branch block. Between 3/9/15 and present I have lost 16 lbs., have constant headaches, digestive issues, nausea. My blood work came back with a positive ANA high b12 at 1340 and high protein at .32.

General Q and A Answer A51872

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am glad to help you out.

I can understand your concern for these symptoms.

The blood reports that you have shared and the symptoms are suggestive of chest pain and shortness of breath due to acid reflux only. However the positive ANA should be further investigated and autoimmune diseases ruled out.

There is nothing to worry about right bundle block which is usually present since birth.

the other possibility which can present with such chest pain is of intercostal myalgia. Then costochondritis should also be ruled out. Costochondritis is an inflammation of the joints in your chest and which may produce chest pain.

You should get these causes evaluated and also follow the treatment which your gastroenterologist has prescribed for you.

Other than that, eat 3-4 small nutritious meals at frequent intervals instead of a heavy single meal. Exercise regularly, avoid fried and spicy food and take your dinner atleast 2 hrs prior to bedtime. Also raise the head end of the bed by 2 blocks.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
