My fiancee just informed me that he tested positive for HSV2. We have never been intimate and have not ever kissed.... we're committed to purity before marriage. I'm terrified of getting the disease. I tend to catch every cold or illness that goes around and have severe allergic reactions to environmental things (I carry an Epi-pen). I'm very sensitive to latex. Would you advise a patient like me to expose myself to Genital herpes or is it too big of a risk?

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
If you have been sexually active or have had sexual or genital contact or contact with semen or other body fluids, you could have had transmission of infection. You can join online groups/sites that are for HSV infected people and find other people and partner going through it. It will help you discuss your feelings and symptoms with other people who have been through these, and be able to share your thoughts and find help. You can try these for help and assistance: http://hsv-2.meetup.com/ , http://herpes-coldsores.com/support/herpes .htm , http://herpes.supportgroups.com/.
Take care.
