Birth Control Answer A39598
Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
If you have re-started your birth control pill use after gap of more than 7 days of taking last active pill, you will not have protection. The effective protection will start after about 2-3 weeks of regular use. Continue to take the pills at scheduled time daily, and avoid missing active pill intake. Use back-up protection during intercourse for additional protection during the first 2-3 weeks of re-starting the birth control pill use if you are worried about pregnancy. For further clarification and assistance, visit your doctor/gynecologist.
Take care.
