Rib pain after abdominal surgery.

User Profile
A month ago I had a major hernia repair with some abdominal wall reconstruction. Now my 2 bottom ribs are hurting. Feels like constant pressure on them. Is this just swelling and tightness from the surgery that will settle as I heal?

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
This could be due to straining due to reconstruction
Of some abdominal wall.I would suggest you to have chest xray to look for it.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
