Red rash on stomach mole

I have a mole on my stomach which has recently developed a red rash on and around it. (The mole itself is not irregular and has not changed at all it simply now has this red rash) I suffer with psoriasis so I thought it might be that. However recently I looked up a condition called a meyerson navus and the symptoms and the pictures are virtually identical. Would I be correct in this observation and if so is it worth going to my GP or not? As I am somewhat worried of it being a more serious condition like melanoma.

Hello and welcome to EHF !

I went through your query and i understand your concern. Mayerson nevus is rare but the presentation you mentioned could fit the description. Let your dermatologist have a look. Before going there try antihistamine and topical itch cream to see if it helps.

Take care

Skin rashes are a common condition. Usually they stem from something pretty harmless, like a reaction to heat, medicine, a plant like poison ivy, or a new detergent you’ve come into contact with.

Rashes can show up on any part of your body, from your head to your feet. They can even hide in the cracks and crevices of your skin. Sometimes they itch, crust, or bleed.

This nonmelanoma skin cancer may appear as a firm red nodule, a scaly growth that bleeds or develops a crust, or a sore that doesn't heal. It most often occurs on the nose, forehead, ears, lower lip, hands, and other sun-exposed areas of the body. Squamous cell carcinoma is curable if caught and treated early.
