My vaginal opening is red, very itchy, uncomfortable and maybe swollen (not sure, I don't really look at it). It's a bit more uncomfortable during sex. It just started itching last night right before sex and I didn't think anything of it. Now it's worse today. Very annoying.

Welcome to ehealthforum.
The symptoms of redness, itching in vagina, and discomfort during intercourse suggest vaginal infection. You should consider reporting to your healthcare provider/gynecologist for an examination and tests to identify infection and get started on appropriated treatment. For temporary relief try applying Caladryl lotion on the outside.
Take care.
