Recently diagnosed with genital warts :(

I was diagnosed with genital warts today. I was shell shocked. I told my fiance and he is worried he gave it to me and worried if he can spread it to his family members through dirty towels, etc. The gyno gave me a paper of HPV facts and it said that if you are sexually active with someone who has been recently diagnosed with genital warts, you can assume to have it as well. My fiance and I aren't concerned about who gave it to whom, but what we can do to keep my symptoms down (he doesn't have any) and precautions we should take. Anybody with genital warts want to give us some advice?

Welcome to ehealthforum,
Women are known to have severe forms of the infection whereas men can remain asymptomatic even if infected. Women generally acquire the infection after intercourse with infected male partner. The outbreaks can be controlled with medication use. Avoid having unprotected sexual contact during outbreaks. For further clarification and assistance, consider visiting your treating doctor/gynecologist together. You may also go ahead with getting couple therapy done to help both of you cope up with the symptoms.
Take care.
