recent Freckle on palm side of hand.

I've always had freckles and moles and they've never really changed but just recently I noticed a freckle on the inside of my palm. First of all I thought it was a tiny splinter but it's grown and it just sits flat in the center of my palm. Is this a sign of skin cancer at all?

Hello,

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out.

You have not mentioned your age but it can be a simple mole also. Melanomas are usually >6 mm in size, with irregular borders ,asymmetrical and dark in color.

What you can do is just keep an eye on this mark. If you notice changes in the mark’s color, height, size or shape, you should have a dermatologist evaluate it. You also should have it checked if it bleeds, oozes, itches, appear scaly, or become tender or painful.Otherwise it should be left as such.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.
