Question on taking OTC omeprosole

I take 2 20 mgs tabs of Prilosex. I am on an Rx of generic Prilosec for 40 mgs. Unfortunately my GI dr. never filled my prescription. I tried several times checking in with my local pharmacy. Asked them to call the dr. Dr. never returned their calls. What i take is mgs wise same mgs as the prescribed dose. Do you think what I'm doing is okay?

Taking two tablets of 20 mg omeprazole is the same as taking a single tablet or capsule of omeprazole which is 40 mg.
