I had a hysterectomy 6 mths ago. I find intercourse uncomfortable if a little painful. I have also experienced bleeding after sex. This obviously is causing me anxiety and dread for the next time ! Does anyone else experience this and if so do you know why? haven't been to Doctor yet, you just get sick of going.

Painful intercourse, is due to a vaginal dryness, a side effect of hysterectomy.
Acctually, when hysterectomy is performed, ovaries can be removed, too.
Without ovaries, low estrogen levels develop, leading to vaginal dryness.
This, usually, develops gradually after a hysterectomy.
Bleeding after intercourse has the same cause.
In one word, these symptoms are side effects of hysterectomy.
