Tip #1: Know your treatment options.

According to some dermatologists, women tend to suffer more from stretch mar compared to men, and you can’t run away from this fact. But with modern medical technologies that we have now, there are many ways of addressing the appearance and severity of stretch marks like laser surgery and peel treatment. These are just a few of the treatments that you could choose from, but they can be expensive and time consuming.

Tip #2: Choose other methods if tip #1 won’t work.

Some people choose to use the simplest method of applying creams on the affected area. Every method used will also bring different results. And remember, no treatment can completely eliminate stretch marks; it could only help fade the streaks that usually appear in the abdomen, buttocks, breasts and thighs.

Tip #3: Try using retinoids.

Retinoids are said to increase collagen and elastic production because this is a derivative of Vitamin A. It will be more effective when used at the early signs of redness before the color fades away. Ask your dermatologist about the prescription and the effectiveness of using retinoids.

Tip #4: You can also try glycolic acid treatments.

Glycolic acid is a member of the Alpha Hydroxy acid family. Visit your dermatologist for inquiries regarding this kind of treatment and it will probably require you up to 4 office visits.

Tip #5: Microdermabrasions are also a good treatment stretch mark removal.

In here, crystals are used to remove the top layer of the skin followed by a vacuum tube to remove the crystals. This treatment is usually effective on older stretch marks which are already difficult to remove using simple treatment. Microdermabrasion can make your stretch marks less noticeable and result in new skin growth.

Tip #6: One method of treatment is the pulsed dye laser treatment.

This works by fading away new marks that are red or purple in color. But the procedure may be expensive and time consuming because you may need 2 to 6 treatments to complete the session. It could also range from $300 to $750 per treatment to a doctor.
