Prescribed Fluxotine (Prozac) for 14 Days - risks?

User Profile
Hi,

I (17 year old female) have recently been prescribed fluxotine to treat my anxiety and panic disorder and have taken it for three days now. Upon doing some research, I stumbled upon side effects, naturally. Most I rationalized as being of no major concern and disregarded them, however I read that if the pill is discontinued it may lead to serious problems such as SSRI and other concerning side effects like brain zaps, dizziness, confusion, vertigo, etc. which are the symptoms I am currently trying to subside by taking fluxotine. baffle

Since my doctor has only prescribed me 14 pills a month to help me get through my menstrual cycle (which is when the panic attacks are most severe), I am genuinely concerned about SSRI since I have now started taking it.

So my question is this: should I discontinue the fluxotine because the risk of developing SSRI is too high, or is it safe for me to only take fluxotine for 14 days of the month.

Thank you for your time!,
