Pregnant? signs suggests she's pregnant.

My girlfriend is almost 17 and we think she may be pregnant. She has been on birth control for 7ish months. However in the past 4-5 weeks signs have been showing up that suggests she's pregnant. Like being really sick in the morning and exhaustion. She did have tender breasts and they've grown and gotten soft like water balloons, her areolas have gotten way bigger and slightly darker too. She's using the bathroom more often and eating more as well. So is she pregnant? Please help

Birth control pills do have a failure rate, very small if they are properly used. Has she been on antibiotics recently - that can affect bc pills. Something has changed, for sure. Run a home pregnancy test and if it is negative have her visit her doc for a check up. There can be other reasons for her signs.

If she has been on birth control through out, then there is no need to worry that she is pregnant.

Her symptoms could be due to birth control induced side effects or due to premenstrual syndrome.

The days around your periods when you feel sick are likely due to premenstrual syndrome. This is a very common condition which is associated with cyclic hormonal changes in the body at the time of the monthly cycles.

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) has a wide variety of symptoms, including emotional difficulties, mood swings, tender breasts, appetite changes, food cravings, fatigue, irritability, sleeplessness, body aches, weight gain due to fluid retention, abdominal bloating, etc.

In most cases the symptoms are very mild, and subside on their own without need for treatment. In case, they are bothering lifestyle changes including diet modification, being physically fit by regular exercising, stress reduction by proper sleep measures, breathing exercises and yoga might be helpful.
