Hey ladies. Before I went on the pill 3 years ago my periods were about 30 days apart.
It took me 6 different pills and 18 months to find the right pill for me that doesn't make me depressed, moody, emotional, angry or sick. I have been off the pill for 5 months now. The first 2 months my period came on day 28. Then it went to 37 the last 2 months (both times I thought I'd be pregnant due to it being so late but hpt came up negative. My husband and I decided last month we will love to fall pregnant but won't worry about it and just let it happen. We did make love over the time of my ovulation as well as other times in the last month, so I hoped I would be pregnant. The last 3 weeks (since pretty much my supposed ovulation time) I've been feeling quesy on and off and also the last week had sore breasts and notices more bumps on my nipples. Also back pain. I thought I was pregnant for sure so took a test on the afternoon I was due for my period (day 37 I decided was the day) and it was negative. (could that have been too early to show?) It's now day 43.

Could the sore breast and other typical signs of pregancy just be my mind playing tricks on me because I want to be pregnant or could I still be pregnant and it's too early to show up on the hpt???
Also can my mind stop my period from coming because I actually dot want it to come because I want to e pregnant?

I've decided I'll take a another test 8 days after my due date of I don't don't have my period.

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
The symptoms that you describe (delay in periods, feeling queasy, sore breasts, more bumps on nipples) could suggest pregnancy possibility. Wait and watch for your periods. Look out for development of any other new symptoms if pregnancy is suspected. If periods do not start within 10 days of expected period dates, or if you get abnormal periods, or if you suspect chances of pregnancy, consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). The urine pregnancy tests done early in pregnancy can show you false negative results as the kits are calibrated ones, so unless the hormone levels in urine reach a certain level, they do not show positive results. Urine pregnancy test kits usually start showing positive results after about 20 days post-conception (roughly corresponding to about 1 week after missed/altered periods). The test should always be done on early morning first urine sample to get accurate results (pregnancy hormone HCG is believed to be in highest concentration in this sample, and she should avoid lot of fluid intake and caffeinated beverages in the night before taking the test). Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Take adequate rest. Drink plenty of water. Maintain healthy diet.
Take care.

am i pregnant or is friend right?
Hi i had my last period about four weeks ago. A week after i came off i had some spotting which was literally three spots then stopped. I thought because im in my mid twenties it was probably just my body playing up. I have always had totally regular periods so when i didnt come on the week i was due i thought maybe that spotting had delayed things. I waited till the week after i was due to see what happened. On the monday after i was due on i experienced spitting again and the same as before it was about three four spots then went. I worried tgat something serious was wrong but i got told that spotting can be an early sign of pregnancy. I took three tests one in the morning and evening of the same day and one in the afternoon of the following day. They all said positive and the two clear blue ones said im about three weeks pregnant which adds up. However when i told my friend she said that things like ovarian cancer can cause a positive test and so can a phantom pregnancy. Im now worried that something might be wrong with me and im not pregnant. Since the test and in some cases before the test i still have not come on and i have experienced light cramps bloating queasiness in the morning sore and tender breasts with more bumps round the nipples and an increase in vaginal discharge. My mum and fiance really believe im pregnant and i want to too but what my friend said is playing on my mind. I rang the doctor and explained everything but he said as the tests came out positive i have to wait till i see a midwife and considering if i am pregnant im only about four weeks and midwives isually see u around eigjt weeks that means i still got four weeks to go before finding out. Im just worried that i will get to the twelve week scan and there will be no baby and my friend is right that its either something serious or a phantom pregnancy. I would love it if i am pregnant but dont want to get my hopes up. What do you thonk the chances are of my friend being right or do you think i am pregnant?

@ peanut!

congratulations! Pretty sure you're pregnant!
Unless you have been wanting to get pregnant for months and thats all your focus was on and each month you thought you were and had 'signs' but then got your period?
Otherwise. Sounds to me like you pregnant!
So stop stressing! Enjoy life! Be happy and glad!
(Wish I was in your boat)
Have you gone for a blood test to test for pregnancy?

I'm in the same situation, just off the pills, ttc, so curious I feel like I'm going to explode, really wanting to get pregnant, etc. I missed my period too, it's about three weeks late and both tests I took were negative :/ I think I'm going to schedule a doctors appointment in the morning to get a blood test done and poissbly a urine and pap smear as well.

Thanks for the advise. I got my period on day 45! So it makes it very hard to keep a track of my ovulation, but I don't want to buy the kit so I guess I just have to watch my symptoms closely for ovualtation. I've been told if you make love 3 times a week for the mOnth it is a pretty good way to fall pregnant of your ovulation is hard to keep a track of. So I think I'll try that one. I guess the signs and symptoms where just in my mind. As much as I want to just relax and wait patiently for it to happen, I can't help but want it so badly!
How soon after gettin off the pill should your periods return to normal? Mine is 6 months now and it seems to be get more irregular!!!
