pregnancy symptoms after partial laparascopic hsyterectomy?

User Profile
Hello,
I have been having lower back pain, lower abdominal pain, nausea, breast tenderness, soreness and sensitivity, severe headaches, swelling in my feet and weight gain. I have had a partial laparascopic hsyterectomy and still have my lower uterus, fallion tubes and ovaries. if i didn't know any better I beleive I am pregnant. I went to the ER and the doctor there did a pelvic exam and said I may have Cervitis because of the pain during the exam. She also stated that she felt somethign on my Ovaries and Falloian Tubes. Why did she not do an Ultrasound to deny or confirm the pregnancy or anything else? I was giving a shot of Toradol and it nothing but lower my blood pressure. then I was given an antibiotic shot and 4 other antibiotic pills. What are the symptoms of pregnancy after my type of hysterecomy? what are the chances that something else is majorly wrong with me? What else could it be cause I feel that she did not know what she was doing? Need help quick!!!

Am I Pregnant Answer A36711
Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum and thanks for writing

After a partial hysterectomy if major portion of uterus is left behind pregnancy can occur rarely but it is usally ectopic in nature and not a viable pregnancy. You can get a HCG level estimate done as it is released only when conception takes place and is an indicator of pregnancy.

Cervicitis can cause symptoms as lower back pain, abdomen pain, itching, spotting after intercourse, burning during urination and if the infection spreads then even nausea and fever can be present.Consider taking the antibiotics and observe for changes.

It is difficult to give a precise diagnosis without complete examination and investigations.Usually Pap smear helps in ruling out cervicitis.Kindly visit a Gynaecologist if you do not see any improvement after taking the prescribed medication.

Take care!
