I am 31yrs old and 6months pregnant with my first child. I am recently got married after finding out I was pregnant. My husband is very supportive and helps out anyway he can. I work a full time job and am compensated fairly well, my husband is an officer in the US army. I have always dreamt of getting married and having kids. Now that it's finally here I am overwhelmed, stressed, and beginning to feel as though I may be depressed. Sometimes I wish I wasn't alive, I have no plans of killing myself but some days I wish I wasn't here. With my husband in the military I had to move from a job I loved, family, friends, traveling to now living in Virginia where I hate my job, have no friends, no family, and can't travel. I wanted marriage and children and now that I have it I don't want it. I just want my old life back. It's hard to communicate these thoughts with my husband because he already tries so hard to make me happy. But I'm not happy. What's wrong with me, what should I do? I looked down at my stomach today and noticed more stretch marks on my belly and couldn't help but to cry.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
Depression is common during pregnancy. But if you always try to relate it with pregnancy, that will be unwise. You have a definite cause of depression here apart from pregnancy. Yes.You are terribly missing your past. That is the main cause of depression here.I suggest you to go for a counselling. Tell this to your husband.Nothing to worry or feel guilty. I think, this is a temporary phenomenon and will be sorted out successfully.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counseling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
