Pregnancy and Crohns disease ?

User Profile
I have crohns disease and have had 3 suregeries due to it a few years ago when i first found out i had it. and i am right now wondering if i am pregnant, could some of my cramping be due to the fact some of my muscules in my abdominal cavity near my uterious have been cut so many times and made them kinda weak, even though i have tried to strenghten them.
I have alot of signs that i may be pregnant and i am currently 4 days late. in the past it is not uncommon for me to ocassionaly go late by a week, but its rare.
I plan to test this weekend.
I also have just stopped taking birth control last month.

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
The chances of the uterine fibers getting cut and you having symptoms so late are rare. If they were cut during your earlier surgery, you would have had bleeding and cramps immediately after surgery.
The mild crams in lower abdomen could be a sign of pregnancy itself (Braxton Hick’s contractions). Look out for other symptoms suggesting pregnancy. Go ahead with examination and test (blood HCG levels) done by your gynecologist at the earliest to confirm/rule out pregnancy.
Take care.
