Preg scan report-No heartbeat detected.

I am 11 weeks as per LMP (5-dec).but as per U/S it is 6 weeks. Conception is on 25 dec .No heartbeat detected. Pls advice is it positive.can I wait for next u/s. My abdomen had slight pain .I c light brown discharge.pls advice.

Well, this type of discrepancy between LMP date and US scan date occurs but usually the difference is 10-14 days. Here it is a month’s difference. Either you your LMP date is incorrect, in which case USG scan will not be able to detect heart beat now, or there is no development of baby or it can even be blighted ovum. You will need another scan in a couple of weeks to determine this.

Meanwhile please get blood HCG estimated at 3 days intervals. Doubling levels indicate pregnancy going forward. Falling levels indicate miscarriage.
